These are a few photos of my grandfather I took two years ago. They were taken while he was waiting for his knee replacement operation due to rheumatoid arthritis. I was alarmed at the physical effect his medication was having on his body and being a sufferer of Ankylosing Spondilitis myself I wanted to document the impact it was having on him. I have decided to re embark on this journey and look deeper into this disease and the people that live with it. I am hoping to get to know other people that have been diagnosed with arthritis and observe what impact, if any, it has had on their lives. I feel it is important to see that while it is a serious disease that can be extremely painful to live with both for the patient and the people around them, it does not signify the end of life as we know it, if anything the appreciation of the life we have increases.
Really nice work Chris
